Christmas in July - Pokémon GO inspired card

*This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links*

Every year, I try and make at least one Christmas card design that is based on current trends. I love how easy this is to do with my Cricut Explore. Pokémon GO is definitely all the rage right now! I keep seeing teenagers (and adults) walking around playing in our subdivision and the app just launched in Canada today.

I created my pokeball using circles (add shape feature on Design Space) and just played with Cricut fonts for my words rather than downloading the actual Pokémon font. (Yes, there is an actual font out there.) The word "GO" is from Cricut Keystone and the word "SANTA" is from Zoo Day. The Santa is from the Simply Charmed cartridge. I chose him because I thought he looked the most cartoon-y.

Does this get you thinking of Christmas projects? Don't forget that Cricut is having their Christmas in July sale until Tuesday. It's like Black Friday in the summer! Thankfully, without the snow or cold.

Pineapple images in Design Space

Yesterday, I read an article in Scrapbook and Cards Today about the scrapbooking trend of pineapples.

Here is Vicki Boutin's article.

After I read the article, I was folding laundry and came across my daughter's brand new pineapple print shirt. Hmmm. Pineapples are all the rage and now I keep noticing them.

Sooo, I made a card.

Here are the pineapple images in my current Design Space Cricut Access Subscription. There are many options for layouts, decor, cards and even three dimensional cards.

So cute! Now I just need one of these.

Happy Canada Day 2016!

Happy Canada Day!

Isn't this a great cut from the Word Collage Cricut cartridge? I used the negative image thinking it might be easier to adhere in a straight line.

Did you guys hear the good news? I was thrilled when Cricut announced flat rate shipping of $14.99 to Canada with a minimum purchase of $75 in May. But.... even better, they lowered the minimum purchase to $50!!! This is amazing! In the past, I have put Cuttlebug folders (just Cuttlebug folders) in my shopping cart at Cricut.com and my potential shipping charges were $38. So glad those days are over. I feel Cricut is making a genuine effort to accommodate Canadian customers and I like it.
