Washington DC mini album

I loved travelling last month to Washington DC so much that as soon as I returned I started to work on this album. This is an accomplishment for me because I rarely appear in pictures or scrap myself. I am one of those Moms who always take the pictures but never appear in them.

I wanted to make a mini album that I could put all of my maps and souvenirs in. If I could smoosh it in, I did.

I cut up my lanyard to create a souvenir pocket. The plastic part works perfectly to hold all my maps and tickets. I left an open spot for a picture of my kids wearing their DC t-shirts that I brought back.

The only Cricut cartridges I used were Destinations, Going Places and Gypsy Wanderings for the page shapes. All of the paper is from the Great Vacation Stack by DCWV.

I love how it turned out!

The many uses of baker's twine...

The hubs was working on re-stringing our street hockey net. *Gasp* Look what twine he used.

Baby boy card

The hubs needed a new baby card this week. So I did a search on Pinterest to look for some inspiration. This is my Pinter-theft or maybe I should call it Pinter-lift?.

Since I was only going to have font on my card, I thought it would be easier to have my letters lined up if I used my Gypsy. That is one advantage to using the negative image of a word, no eyeballing for placing the letters. One disadvantage though is gluing the teeny, tiny center of the letter "e"s.

Thank you card

I'm back from Washington, folks. What a great place to tour! I loved the museums, monuments, White House, Kennedy Center, Georgetown all of that fun stuff. My first order of business back in reality is to make some thank you cards. (well, maybe snuggling my family was the first order of business and a suitcase of dirty laundry was the second.)

I will need to be busy making "end of the school year thank you cards" for the teachers, bus driver, piano teacher etc. Anyone want to have a card making day? Maybe a virtual card making day?

I would also love to quickly make a "Washington trip" mini album to show off my pictures. Here it is so far...

Have a great day!
